1. Cross Mountain Park

This very easy trail has amazing views once you reach the top. It once used to be an Indian lookout prior to the early settlers. It is open from dawn to dusk and there is no fee to enter the park although parking may be limited during busy times.

2. Enchanted Rock

This pink giant dome is one of the most famous and must-hike trails when in Fredericksburg. Backpacking, camping, hiking, geocaching, and stargazing are just some of the few activities you can do here.

3. Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park

Known as the crown jewel of Fredericksburg’s parks, this 10-acre of natural landscape houses lakes, riparian woodland, post-oak savanna, and short grass meadows. There is no admission fee and a trail guide is available at the park office.

4. Old Tunnel State Park

This is an abandoned railroad tunnel that is now home to hundreds of Mexican free-tailed bats seasonally. Enjoy hiking, bird-watching, and general wildlife.

8. Lyndon B. Johnson State Park & Historic Site

1.2 miles of trails can be enjoyed in this park. Aside from enjoying the trails, see passing bisons, longhorns, wildflowers, creeks, and historic cabins.
