2. Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park

The massive park features a lake, riparian woodland, post-oak savanna, and short grass meadows. A tour guide is available at the park and there is no admission fee.

3. Lyndon B. Johnson State Park & Historic Site

Learn about the history of the town in this park. Take a self-guided tour at the Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm, see rangers dressed in period clothing raise crops, take care of animals, and cook meals. Walk along in the historic cabins and nature trails too.

4. Cross Mountain Park

9. Old Tunnel State Park Bat Cave

This abandoned railroad tunnel is home to millions of Mexican free-tailed bats seasonally. Enjoy hiking, bird watching, and general wildlife. Permits are required from November to April and sold in advance through an online reservation system.
